Let's imagine that your PC is currently running Windows 7 / Vista and you would like to install Windows 8 on the same PC along with your Windows 7 ( you may be having any reason for that ).
Windows 8 will work perfectly if installed separately , if you try to install two OS
( operating system ) on same system than it may brick your PC
Windows-8 system requirements 64-bit (x64)
CPU with 1 GHz
20 GByte Hard disk space
2 GByte RAM
DirectX-9 graphics Card
Windows-8 system requirements 32-bit (x86/x32)
CPU with 1 GHz
16 GByte Hard disk space
1 GByte RAM

For Installing Both Windows 8 and 7 you must have atleast 30 GB of Free Hard Disk.
HOW TO INSTALLING WINDOWS 8 ON SEPARATE PARTITION.
So Here we Start.
Step 1. Create a Physical Partition on your Hard Disk and Search for “Disk Management” in the search bar and choose the program with the description “Create and format hard disk partitions.”
Step 2. When Disk Management window opens Click on The Disk Drive where you want to install Windows on, ( let us take it as C: drive in my case ) Right click on it ans select Shrink option as shown in this image.
Step 3. Next step is to specify the size you want to give for Windows 8 partition. For basic usage 30-40 GB will be fine. You have to enter the amount on Mega Bytes in the box for this you may use calculator
1 GB - 1024 MB (Basic conversion )
and Enter these numerical number in Box which says “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB.”
Step 4. Window will now make an "Unallocated Space " with the same Volume you specified in the Previous Step. Now Right click on that volume created and choose " New Simple Volume"
Now Give this Partition a Name ( L: ) and than Format Partition using NTFS Format. Thats it , your new partition is ready for the installation.
Booting From Windows 8 DVD For Dual Mode.
Now in Previous tutorial you already have made a Partition for the installation of Windows 8. Now it time for the installation.
Insert the Bootable Windows 8 DVD and reboot your computer.
Now it should say this message " Press any key to Boot from CD or DVD" if it says so than follow step by step Procedure said by Windows 8 installer and select the partition you made in Previous tutorial for the Drive where OS is to be installed. It will ask by itself don't get confused. The installation will take about 15-20 minutes and in between you PC will get reboot many times. It's general not to be so worried about it.
In case your PC don't boot from the DVD and doesn't show this " Press any key to Boot from CD or DVD" message than reboot the PC again and when it is about the start again keep Pressing " ESC " again and again. This will show you the options from where you can install Windows. Select the CD/DVD Drive and it will start Booting.
